This summer we are offering Sports Performance after camp clinics! These camps are geared toward long-term athletic development, incorporating strength and conditioning designed to keep athletes healthy. Fundamental movement and proper technique will be taught as well as more advanced sport-specific techniques. The course will concentrate on the building blocks of Sports Performance through body weight movement, mobility, flexibility, core strength, resistance, speed training, and running mechanics. Athletes interested in bettering their development or interested in becoming more fit are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity in our state-of-the-art weight room.
Looking for something to do after your class ends? Do you need to stay later while your parents work? Afternoon Camp is for you. This very casual program provides a safe place to hang out until 5:30 PM. We will show movies, play games, and offer other activities to help you chill in the afternoon.
AFTERNOON CAMP IS ONLY OFFERED TO THOSE WHO ARE ENROLLED IN PROGRAMS ON THE UPPER SCHOOL CAMPUS.
The Harvard-Westlake Baseball coaching staff will conduct a baseball camp at O'Malley Family Field in Encino on all facets of the game of Baseball. Individualized instruction and game situational play will be used to prepare the athletes to perform at a higher level. Each player will be analyzed and coached in the following aspects of baseball: hitting, fielding, base running, mental approach, and stretching techniques. Each day of camp will feature a competitive game. Enrollment is limited. Campers should come dressed to play baseball, with their own glove, cleats, and tennis shoes.
Led by Harvard-Westlake Basketball Coach, David Rebibo, and staff, the camp will emphasize all the fundamentals of basketball: ball-handling, passing, dribbling, man-to-man defense and offense, shooting, rebounding, footwork, screens, cuts, and conditioning. Plan to have a great time with Coach Rebibo, as well as past and present players, while learning the game of basketball! Each day will feature warm-ups and fun contests. The number of coaches will be determined by enrollment to assure a low coach-to-player ratio. Campers should come to camp dressed to play basketball, wearing proper athletic shoes. No equipment is necessary.

This camp provides individual attention and guidance for student runners in events 800 meters and up, including cross country races. You will train in an environment where success is the focus and you'll receive guidance from coaches whose expertise utilizes the latest research in exercise science and best practices. This includes training, racing strategies and racing philosophy, injury prevention, character development, and leadership skills. New this year will be an introduction to multi-sports events and cross training. Since 2003, Coach Sharpe has been training Harvard-Westlake distance runners. His achievements as a coach include eight CIF team championships in Cross Country and Track & Field, countless CIF and State champions, and even National Championships, as well as two National Records. Campers should come in proper running gear, athletic shoes, and bring a water bottle. Track cleats are not necessary.
Harvard-Westlake Fencing camps are a unique weeklong experience. The camps will promote fun, while you learn the fundamental skills of fencing. Learning fencing will help you develop balance, concentration, coordination, tactical skills, teamwork, discipline, and self-esteem. Participants will learn proper footwork, execution of fencing actions, and recreational bouting. All equipment will be provided, including equipment for electronic scoring. Campers should come to camp dressed to be active and in athletic shoes. A great experience you should not miss this summer!
Participants will experience firsthand the latest football techniques and fundamentals that are essential in the game of football. The camp will be directed by Harvard-Westlake's Football Program Head Coach, Dameon Porter. You will have personal instruction by a devoted staff that will motivate and challenge you in a fun and competitive environment. You will learn the basics, such as stance, start, leverage, proper body position for blocking and tackling, throwing, catching, kicking, and running. Safety and proper technique will be emphasized in every drill. You will not actually tackle or block at full speed, but will be instructed on the fundamentals through the hands-on, personal approach of our knowledgeable staff. You will be introduced to basic strength training along with a speed and conditioning program, all of which are essential to excelling in the game of football. Campers should come to camp dressed to participate in athletic activities and wear athletic shoes. Cleats are recommended but not required.
Jonas Koolsbergen has been the head track and field coach for boys and girls at Harvard-Westlake since 1992. Koolsbergen has coached Harvard-Westlake teams to nine CIF Championships and has coached countless individual CIF Finalists and California State Meet participants. This camp is geared towards giving each athlete the tools needed to become faster. You will receive personal attention to improve your running - and you do not have to be track athletes to participate or benefit, as athletes in almost all sports can benefit from being faster, quicker, and building proper mechanics. We will dissect the very process of sprinting and use the knowledge gained to make refinements in each athlete's sprinting. Each phase of running will be analyzed: start, acceleration, and maintained speed. You will go through sample workouts and entire long-term training programs will be introduced. Stretching and injury prevention will also be taught. Campers should come in proper running gear, running shoes, and bring a water bottle. Track cleats are not necessary.
In this summer Spirit Camp you will learn six pieces of choreography from top choreographers in all styles including Hip Hop, Jazz, and Pom. You will also learn principles and techniques in cheer stunting, tumbling, crowd engagement, calling cheers, and more. You will have daily technique classes in all styles with time for games and fun in between! You will leave this camp with material to practice and showcase all year, as well as technique to guide you in your training. This is a great camp if you love dance, cheer, and/or are interested in the Harvard-Westlake Spirit Program. Our lead instructor, Amy Egbert, has been the Program Head for Dance & Cheer at Harvard-Westlake since 2012 and has extensive experience in performance and training experience in Pom, Jazz, and Hip Hop. Her performance resume includes dancing with Billie Eilish at Coachella, the NBA, Disney, Nike, and more. She has been teaching dance professionally for over 12 years, coaching dance teams to two national titles in Pom, choreographing, and teaching thousands of students from around the world preparing them to perform at the Disney Parks, on Broadway, and at The Grand Ole Opry with Dance the Magic, and traveling to teach dance teams across the country. Our assistant instructor, Caitlyn Holzer, was an all-star cheerleader, winning numerous national championships as well as a professional dancer with performance credits including Billie Eilish, Jason Derulo, and Beyonce. Campers should come to camp in dance clothing and shoes, and bring a water bottle.
Jelena Durisic, Program Head for Girls' Tennis, and her highly qualified staff will have two camps this summer. Coach Durisic and her assistant coaches led the HW Team to the finals of CIF-SS, and Mission League Championships. The coaches are all former college or professional players who know what it takes to get better on the court. Because of the vast experience that Coach Durisic and her staff have, the camp will focus on skill development, singles and doubles strategies, movement and footwork, and match play. We believe in working hard and having a great time. You will walk away at the end of the week with a smile on your face, having developed as tennis players. This camp is for players who are intermediate level and above. Campers should come to camp dressed to play tennis, in tennis shoes, and bring their own racquet. Campers should also bring a water bottle and sunscreen.
Harvard-Westlake VEX V5 Robotics Intensive is a weeklong camp for anyone who intends to compete in the 2025-26 VEX V5 robotics game or for anyone interested in VEX. You will learn advanced designing, building, and programming skills specifically tailored to the new VEX game, which will be released at VEX Worlds in May 2025. Experience in VEX is helpful but not required.
During the five days, you will break down the new game, identify applicable strategies, and build a custom-designed robot that tackles the main challenges of the game. Part of our exploration will be how to maximize robot efficiency with custom-cut polycarbonate and in-game strategies to help you become a top contender. By the last day, you will compete with your robot and leave the camp with specific design ideas, advanced building techniques, and programming tips to guide them into the 2025-26 VEX V5 Season.
Harvard-Westlake Robotics is one of the premier VEX robotics programs in Los Angeles and home to the 2024 VEX Robotics Middle School World Champions.
Athletic trainers are an integral part of every successful athletic program at all levels. Athletic Trainers specialize in the emergency response of an acute injury, as well as prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries. They work hard to keep athletes safely playing their sport. This summer, one of our own Harvard-Westlake athletic trainers, Alex Calderon, will teach you how to care for, manage, and prevent basic athletic injuries, as well as certify qualified campers in American Red Cross CPR & First Aid. Alex is a Certified Athletic Trainer and has years of experience with high school athletics. Enrollment is limited.

Bo Hardt, Program Head for Boys' Tennis at HW, will coach 2 summer camps, along with his experienced coaching staff and Varsity alumni tennis players. Over the past 6 seasons, the program has had tremendous results. After making the finals in 2014 and 2015, HW won the D-1 CIF SS Championship in 2017. In 2018, HW cemented itself as the #1 tennis program in So Cal by taking second place at The All-American National Tournament and repeating as CIF champs, while adding its first-ever CIF State Regional title. In 2019, the team won the National All-American tournament for the first time, and in 2020, they won the National High School UTR tournament in Texas. In 2021, the team won the CIF Open Division (the first Open Division win by any Harvard-Westlake team), and they won the CIF State Regional title, as well. Because of the vast experience that Coach Hardt and his staff have, the camp will focus on skill development, singles and doubles strategies, movement and footwork, and match play. Harvard-Westlake Summer Day Camps are designed for players of all levels who want to learn and improve their fundamental soccer skills in a fun and encouraging environment. Players are given the unique opportunity to receive individual instruction from Harvard-Westlake Soccer's coaching staff. Each day is filled with a variety of activities to promote correct soccer technique, including: small-sided games to encourage personal involvement and enhance the understanding of team concepts, technical and ball mastery skills sessions, shooting drills, and much more. If you are looking to improve your soccer skills in an environment that is both challenging and fun, come to Harvard-Westlake this summer to take part in our soccer camp. This camp is open to players with club or AYSO Extra/Flex experience and above. Players will be divided by age and skill level. Harvard-Westlake Wolverine Sports Camps swimming staff will have two weeks of swim camp this summer. Both weeks of camp are designed for intermediate level swimmers and advanced swimmers. The advanced camp is for advanced swimmers who are looking to improve race strategies, race pacing, and overall race performance. Swimmers will receive instruction in all four competitive strokes, racing starts, and turns, as well as advanced race theories. The Wolverine Swim Camps have highly qualified coaches who use the latest developments in training sciences to help swimmers move as efficiently as possible through the water. In addition to work in the water, campers will be taught dry land workouts designed to improve core strength, which will help swimmers hold proper body line in the water. The camps will both take place in the Copses Family Pool, one of the finest aquatic facilities in Southern California. Campers should dress in a swimsuit, bring a towel, athletic shoes, sunscreen, and goggles.

Harvard-Westlake's Head Lacrosse Coach, Drew Jenkins, along with his qualified assistants, will host a week-long lacrosse camp. The camp will cover the building blocks of lacrosse, from stick skills, dodging, shooting, team offense, team defense, and transition play toward becoming an advanced player. More advanced players will receive insights as to what will elevate them from good to great. Initial sessions of the camp will focus on individual skills, while later sessions emphasize the incorporation of these skills into group and team concepts. Participants should bring their own gear, although equipment will be available for those new to the sport. Campers should come to camp in athletic clothing and athletic shoes. If they have a lacrosse stick, please bring it to camp.
This camp is open for all levels and abilities in water polo — no prior experience needed! For beginners, we will teach the basic fundamentals and rules of the game. For our more advanced campers, we will introduce and strengthen more complex tactics and skills. Each day, in addition to the time in the pool, campers will get a chance to watch videos, review concepts in classroom sessions, and learn the basics of dry-land. The week-long volleyball camp will emphasize fundamental skills and basic strategies of the game. High-quality teaching, demonstrations, repetitions, and competitive games will be provided to ensure each player's skill development. Enrollment in this camp will be limited in order to ensure a quality student-to-teacher ratio. Harvard-Westlake's prestigious volleyball history includes 17 league championships, 7 CIF championships, 5 State Titles, and numerous student athletes who have gone on to play collegiately at top academic and athletic schools at the Division I, II, and III levels. Campers should come to camp in athletic clothing, knee pads, and athletic shoes.
Coach Branden Augustus, our Girls' Golf Program Head, and his qualified staff of experienced teaching professionals, will conduct this camp. He will accommodate the following skill levels: the junior, who has clubs but wants to learn more golf fundamentals; the tournament-level junior, looking to improve tournament results; and the high school golfer, looking to improve. You will participate in drills, skills challenges, and other fun activities throughout the week. Instruction may include video analysis. You'll learn putting, chipping, pitching, and the full swing. Course play will emphasize strategy, shot selection, course management, rules, and etiquette. Campers must bring their own clubs and come dressed to participate in athletic activity. Golf shoes are not required.

Softball Program Head, Leesa Harris, would like to invite young softball players of all skill levels to a week of softball camp, Wolverine Style. Join us for hitting, fielding, and throwing drills, as well as lessons on leadership and teamwork. The week will feature high school-level drills, competitions, and challenges designed to prepare players for a successful transition to high school softball. Camp will end with "Softball Olympics Day", a fun way for campers to show off new and polished skills. Campers should come to camp dressed to be active, and with a glove, cleats (no metal cleats), and athletic shoes.
Join the Harvard-Westlake coaching staff in this week-long field hockey camp for beginning, intermediate, and advanced level players. Athletes will be divided into small groups for individual attention, and coaching will cover level-appropriate instruction on dribbling, stick handling, dodging, hits, jabbing, block tackling, scoring techniques and strategies, passing and receiving, and other principles of play. Special sessions for goalkeepers will also be offered. Players will participate in daily drills and games, with opportunities to win camp prizes. Camp will end with A Day of Games, a fun way for campers to bond and show off their new skills, compete, and win prizes. Campers should come to camp dressed to be active, with cleats and athletic shoes for football turf, and have shin guards, a mouth guard, and a field hockey stick (sticks and goalie equipment are available to borrow if needed).
This intermediate-to-advanced skills camp is perfect for campers wanting to improve individual skills. Enrollment is limited to assure a low player-to-coach ratio. The camp will address fundamental technical and tactical skills with a focus on footwork, developing confidence and creativity with the ball, and combination play in small spaces. Additional topics will include physical and mental preparation, injury prevention, and tactical awareness. HW girls' soccer camps are directed and overseen by Harvard-Westlake Program Head Richard Simms. Coach Simms has been in his role at HW since 2005 and is also Club Director at a local club. The camp will also employ many of the HW Varsity coaching staff and will include the opportunity for campers to play with, and learn from, current HW Varsity players. If you have your own soccer ball, please bring it, but soccer balls will also be provided. Campers should come to camp dressed to play soccer, with tennis shoes, cleats, and shin guards. No other equipment is necessary.
