Peer Tutoring Program

Mission Statement

The Harvard-Westlake Peer Tutoring Program empowers students to support one another in their academic pursuit by fostering a collaborative and inclusive learning environment. Guided by our tenants and commitment to academic integrity, the program emphasizes faculty-led academic support while promoting student-growth, confidence and achievement.

Program Information

Peer tutoring is a program that is available to all students at Harvard-Westlake. Peer tutoring provides students with strategies on how to improve and succeed in almost every course that is offered. Through the program, students are paired with peers who have taken and excelled in the same course, and have been recommended by faculty.

The application process for peer tutors is open to all students who might be interested in supporting peers in any subject. While admission into the program is competitive, there are still many onramps for students to contribute to the peer tutoring program and the learning center in general. Our goal is to provide initial intervention prior to referring students to resources outside of the school community.
