The Financial Aid program continues to grow at Harvard-Westlake. The percentage of the student body receiving aid has risen from 12% three years ago to a current level of 16%. The school’s Scholar Endowed Funds are a significant source of that aid. We sat down with Director of Financial Aid Geoff Bird to talk about the state of financial aid at the school.

Entertainment Weekly magazine has honored "The Book of Dahlia," by alumna Elisa Albert '96, as the second-best fiction book of 2008. Read the review by visiting the Entertainment Weekly website.

If you haven't joined the group, simply search for it on Facebook (use "Harvard-Westlake" as the search term, and then select the results that fall under the Group category) and request membership.

At 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 28, alumnus Daniel Schlosberg '96 will be performing at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) as part of the museum's free Sundays Live chamber music program.
Schlosberg (piano), along with Sean Lee (violin), will perform Franz Schubert: Duo in A Major, D. 574; Valentin Silvestrov: Der Bote; Sergei Prokofiev: Sonata No. 1 in F Minor, Opus 80. More information can be found by visiting www.sundayslive.org.
Schlosberg is currently the artist-in-residence and instructor of studio piano at the University of Notre Dame. His background includes the following degrees: a D.M.A. from Stony Brook University; an M.M. and a B.M. from the Peabody Conservatory; and a B.A. in history from Johns Hopkins University.

Ali Riley '06, a junior at Stanford University, and Lizzy Danhakl '07, a sophomore at Williams College, have led their respective soccer teams to the semifinals of the NCAA women's tournament.

Faculty member John Luebtow is also a world-renowned glass sculptor whose work has been consigned around the world and in the United States. One of his recent projects was a glass water sculpture for a plaza in Century City, Calif.
Luebtow wrote an article about the process he went through to conceptualize and develop the sculpture, which was recently printed in Watershapes magazine. The magazine gave permission for Harvard-Westlake to share this article on our website. Read More
